Typhoon Hato nears Hong Kong

Typhoon Hato has been circling for days producing high winds and plenty of rain. The weather observatory has announced the tropical storm will pass near Hong Kong “posing considerable threat” to the territory.

The T10 storm signal (the highest) has been raised forcing the closure of schools and businesses throughout the city.

How will this affect Air & Ocean operations?

• The sea port stopped receiving containers since 3pm yesterday and will remain suspended for the rest of the day.
• Airlines have warned of cancellations and delays.
• With warnings in place our Mainfreight Hong Kong operations have been suspended and service will resume once ports and airports are operational.
