Mainfreight Response to Low Ball Offer - John William Armour - Washington Securities

Posted on 11 September 2013

We have posted the following as a full page paid advertisement in prominent New Zealand newspapers:

Mainfreight prides itself on being a New Zealand company with global aspirations and the best interests of its shareholders at heart.

That is why we are paying for this important message.

We are concerned about the aggressive activity of a faceless Australian company, 'Washington Securities Pty Ltd', in making unsolicited offers to buy the shares of many of Mainfreight's smaller shareholders.

The prices being offered are between 30% and 40% less than the shares are worth.

If you have received a written offer from this mob, we request you to seek independent financial advice, though we recommend that you do not accept the offer and consign it to the rubbish.

You can check the most recent share market price on our web site www.mainfreight.com - search keywords: “share price”.

Small shareholders in many New Zealand listed companies, as well as some deceased estates, have been targeted in recent years by these opportunist type offers.

We strongly advise that you DO NOT ACCEPT any such offers.

For your information the shareholder of Washington Securities Pty Ltd is -

JOHN WILLIAM ARMOUR

Try searching for him on-line under 'Washington Share Offer' and follow the names and information there.

Let's stop this guy.
