DP World increases port access fees in Sydney and Melbourne | April 2017
DP World Australia has announced substantial increases in port access fees at its Sydney and Melbourne terminals.
Several industry organisations are formally challenging this surcharge and will be raising the matter with NSW Ports, the Port of Melbourne and relevant Government stakeholders. Mainfreight is working together with several parties to minimise these increases and will keep you informed of further updates.
What does this mean for me?
All containers delivered to the DP World terminals via road or rail will face this increase.
When does this come into effect?
April 17, 2017
What is the Infrastructure Surcharge (port access fees)?
- Melbourne will increase from $3 to $32.60 per container
- Sydney will increase from $0 to $30.00 per container
- Further increases are also expected in Brisbane.
