Mainfreight Service Announcement | Cyclone Debbie Circles North Queensland | March 2017
Update: March 29, 2017
Our Townsville branch is open and receiving freight. At this stage, some roads within the region remain closed, but our drivers are on the road, making deliveries where it is safe to do so.
Please be advised that Cyclone Debbie is circling North Queensland and is due to hit the coast at a category 4 by 8am Tuesday the 28th March, 2017.
Our team in Townsville are in full operation today unloading all units and delivering as much freight as possible that these circumstances allow. The high winds and rain is forcing road closures from Mackay to Cairns and slowing down our operations. With the warnings in place we fully expect the Townsville branch will be closed for the entire duration of Tuesday 28th.
- There will be no northbound services leaving tonight (Ingham, Innisfail and Cairns).
- There will be no regional services Tuesday the 28th March (Ayr, Bowen, Charters Towers).
- We will be loading southbound units today as weather permits.
- We are expecting to be open for business as usual on Wednesday 29th, 0600hrs, but may be without power.
We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time and please be assured our team are focused on delivering the best possible service that the circumstances allow. We will be keeping this page updated as more information come to hand.
