Driving Wharf Cartage Efficiencies in Brisbane

Owens Transport, our national wharf cartage business, have recently moved into a new purpose built facility on 1.7 hectares of land in the heart of the Port of Brisbane. The new location provides unmatched proximity to the wharves to ensure timely collection of containers and direct connectivity to the Port of Brisbane motorway.

The new facility features 10,000m2 of hardstand and “is approved for super B-Double access with a maximum load limit of 109 tonnes,” notes Owens Brisbane Branch Manager, Paul Bellamy. “Utilising these vehicles will deliver 100 per cent productivity gain on each trip,” adds Paul. The super B-Doubles can carry combinations of 4x twenty foot equivalent units.

The new Brisbane site features:

• 10,000 m2 hardstand
• 2,500 m2 warehousing space
• 16 reefer points
• AQIS 1.3 licensed 
• Customs bond licencing
